The session will outline the diverse realm of material deposition on substrates for the production of printed circuit board assemblies. It will discuss industry needs, ranging from volume deposition of materials, such as coatings and underfills, to accurate deposition of adhesives and solder pastes, to the challenging deposition of functional materials at the level of interconnects. It will also focus on non-contact jetting from an historical and technological perspective, and will look into the future with reference to what materials and technologies will be needed to fulfill the needs of the electronics industry.
