RELIABLE APPLICATIONS RELY ON PAKTRON CAPACITORS aktron has been the leading manufacturer of Multi-Layer Polymer (MLP) film capacitors for over 50 years supported by more than 75 patents for film capacitors and machine design to provide reliable solution across the globe. Paktron specializes in Ultra Low ESR MLP capacitors in SMT (lead-framed and chip) and thru-hole, and, resistor-capacitor (RC) Network/Snubber. The metallized electrode used in Paktron’s proprietary Interleaf® Technology process assures reliable performance. MLP surface mount, chip and lead framed capacitors are capacitors of choice in higher voltage and reliability-sensitive applications. The MLP capacitor provides improved stability, both electrically and mechanically, featuring a "non-shorting" operation and does not crack like large ceramic chip capacitors. Capacitance values range from 0.1 μF to 50 μF and the voltage ratings are 50 VDC to 500 VDC. Paktron serves Power Conversion for industries such as telecommunications/datacom, military infrastructure, automotive including electric vehicle, medical and high-end industrial. The 100 volt rated MLP capacitor is the part of choice for input/output filtering in 48 volt telecom bus power applications (on-board or dc/dc modules). In addition to the MLP products, Paktron is the supplier of the Quencharc® (RC) Network, the oldest trademark name in the industry for RC networks. The Quencharc® is used extensively in industrial applications where there are inductive loads (relays, solenoid valves, motor contactors) creating electrical noise leading to contact arcing or resetting of programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Paktron recently introduced 50 μF 100VDC film capacitors for replacement of large ceramic capacitors. These parts are open frame with UL94 V-0 flame retardant epoxy coating capable of handling up to 30A of current at 200 KHz as the ESR is less than 2 mΩ at 200 KHz with TCE that is close to PCB. Non piezoelectric MLPs are extremely suitable for handling high spike currents on the voltage bus because of their superb dV/dt characteristics. The low ESR enables MLPs to offer highly efficient pulse handling capability with less than 1 FIT (one failure per million devices operational for 1000 hours) at 50% of rated voltage.
