PSMA and IEEE PELS Educational Series for Young Professionals Continues

T ogether with IEEE PELS, the PSMA Industry-Education Committee has announced a Young Professionals Educational Seminar Series. This series addresses the non-technical skills that are vital for young engineers and students to advance their career, including social networking, technical development, managing teams, applying for patents and other skills that are not typically parts of formal University education programs. The first three seminars have been completed, with three more in the queue. This past October, Ada Cheng, AdaClock, discussed "Social Networking for Engineers" in person at the PwrSoC 2021 workshop.  In January, Lauren E. Kegley, Wolfspeed, presented a webinar "Building Momentum in Industry: Skills to Excel During Your First 5 Years".  And in February, Alexander Gerfer, Würth Elektronik, presented on "Managing Experts" with a focus on how to manage a geographical dispersed team especially during these pandemic times.

After taking a break for APEC in March, the series will continue with the final three seminars in the series with speakers provided by PSMA and PELS. Both organizations will make the webinars available for later viewing for those who cannot attend. There is no charge for attending the webinars nor for viewing them afterwards.
